Necklace Length Guide (35–100 cm)

By Echo & Co. • March 26, 2026

We often get asked how different necklace lengths actually look when worn.

For many people, it’s hard to picture what 35 cm or 50 cm really means just by numbers. So we put together a simple visual guide using real photos, to show how each length sits on the body.

The lengths shown here are based on pieces currently available in our store.

Here’s a quick visual overview before we go into each length.

35 cm

A short, close-fitting length that sits high on the neck.

It frames the collarbone closely and feels more delicate. Often worn on its own or used as the top layer when stacking.

40 cm

45 cm

Falls around the collarbone.

This is one of the most versatile lengths. It sits naturally on the neckline and works well for both minimal styles and pendants.

Without a pendant, it feels clean and close to the neck.
With a pendant, it drops slightly and creates a softer line.

50 cm

Sits just below the collarbone.

This length gives pendants a bit more space and creates a more relaxed line. It works well with simple tops and adds a subtle vertical shape.

70 cm

Falls around the upper chest.

If you're not sure where to start

If you're choosing your first piece, 40 cm or 45 cm is usually the easiest place to begin.

They sit naturally on the neckline and work well with most outfits, whether worn alone or layered.

Everyone’s proportions are a little different, so the exact fit may vary slightly depending on your neck width, height, and styling.
